Information
Every exposure we
make is generally a compromise unless we are extremely
lucking with the lighting conditions and we rarely
are that lucky. Do we expose to get good shadow
details underneath the Image 1, or do we accept
the strong sky tones on Image 3? What we have tended
to do is to go for a midway point as in Image 2
and then we have started our manipulation in Photoshop
to darken some areas and lighten others. That takes
time and some skill to be able to do that effectively.
Come in HDR. With our three images below we shot
Image 1 with a 1 stop over exposure, Image 2 at
the standard exposure and Image 3 with a 1 stop
under exposure.
Using Photomatix software we can
stitch all three images together as a HDR image
and the result is what you can see below. HDR is
almost definitely what we will be doing in the future,
why not get up to date with the techniques now with
this video. Unfortunately we cannot include our
3 starting images with this download because it
increases the download file size too much.
