Manipulation Basics
for the new user of Elements 7
The Videos runs
for 30 minutes

When we first start using Photoshop
Elements 7 we can be forgiven for not knowing where
to start. That is quite normal until you begin to
understand what can be done to your images, with
the minimum of fuss. Here we have put together 6
short videos that give you a practical demo on the
techniques you will need to get started with.
Exposure
We all have exposure errors from
time to time, but in this example we demonstrate
a quick and simple way to make a substantial improvement
to your image. You can see the difference in our
image between the left and right side. The changes
are quick and simple, but isn't everything simple
when you know how.

Creating a Sepia Tone
Add charm and impact to your images
by applying delicate tones and the one best known
is a sepia. Select the right image and this simple
technique is hard to beat

Creative Filter Techniques
We all start with filters and there
is nothing wrong with that, but lets give you a
few pointers to get started
Cloning
Probably the most essential skill
you need to learn is Cloning. Here we have spots
and blemishes on the image to the left. We have
ringed those as they are not easy to see on these
small web pictures, but they will spoil your high
resolution pictures if you don't deal with them
effectively. Our image is a clean as a whistle after
only a few seconds
Converging Verticals
Caused when we have to look up at
our subject and it can be quite distracting, but
easily put right in Elements
Putting it all Together
In our final video we take a little from each of
the techniques above to fix Skipper the dog

We quickly fix the exposure error,
crop the image to get rid of distractions in the
top left corner and add a vignette to finish the
image off. Finally adding a delicate texture for
a great result
